Robert C. Shea began his legal career serving as a Deputy County Attorney working with the Family Court Bureau of the Nassau County Attorney’s Office. During his tenure, Robert was assigned to the Child Support Division, responsible for thousands of matters in the Nassau County Family Court including Paternity proceedings, Child Support and Modification proceedings, Violations of Support Orders, as well as assisting the Juvenile Delinquency and Negligence Divisions.
Robert C. Shea began his legal career serving as a Deputy County Attorney working with the Family Court Bureau of the Nassau County Attorney’s Office. During his tenure, Robert was assigned to the Child Support Division, responsible for thousands of matters in the Nassau County Family Court, including Paternity proceedings, Child Support and Modification proceedings, Violations of Support Orders, as well as assisting the Juvenile Delinquency and Negligence Divisions. As Deputy County Attorney, Robert conducted dozens of hearings and trials on behalf of the Nassau County Department of Social Services and various interstate and international Social Service Departments through the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act. Robert also continued his service as a Deputy County Attorney by volunteering as counsel on behalf of the Nassau County Department of Probation for Raise the Age Juvenile Delinquency petitions during weekend filings at Nassau County District Court regarding both violent and non-violent offenses of juvenile delinquents.

 

Robert continued his legal career as an Associate at Cullen and Dykman, LLP, working with the General Liability, Tort, and Insurance Defense practice. During his tenure, Robert vigorously defended various publicly held corporations, parent and subsidiary organizations, including household name retailers, delivery distributors, and premises landlords in personal injury claims in both State and Federal Court proceedings. As an Associate, Robert zealously advocated on behalf of the firm’s clients through all aspects of litigation, whether during arguments in the courtroom, mediation sessions or through motion practice, to advance client interests both for the resolution of matters at hand and the preservation of client public image in the age of social media.

 

Prior to his admission to practice, Robert was a Legal Extern with the Town of Hempstead Town Attorney’s Office. Robert engaged in various legal research and analysis projects on behalf of the Town, ranging from zoning use, employment policy and procedure, municipal/state/federal inter-governmental agency conflicts, ordinance violation enforcement, COVID-19 municipal policy and coordination, dangerous animal conditions, and so onAt the conclusion of his externship, Robert was invited to return as a Legal Assistant pending admission to the New York State Bar, where he continued to work until his admission to practice in New York and beginning his tenure with Nassau County.

 

Robert is admitted to practice law in the State of New York, as well as the United States District Court for the Southern, Eastern, and Northern Districts of New York.

 

Robert began his legal education at Brooklyn Law School, graduating Class of 2021 as a Juris Doctor. Robert attended Providence College, graduating Class of 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and as a member of the Liberal Arts Honors College Program. Robert is a proud alumnus of St. Francis Preparatory School, graduating Class of 2014.
